| EARLY SPRING: One of the most prevalent fish diseases that is found in the early Spring is Ich or Ick. This highly contagious parasitic disease can spread rapidly in your pool and cause fish death. It is identified as appearing as specks of salt on the fish skin. Typically fish can be stressed from the winter months and not only are susceptible to Ich but other parasitic and bacteriological diseases. Newly introduced plants can also introduce Ich. Three important products to have ready for Spring are:
1. Ick-Ease: Safe guard your pond by treating it in the Spring with Pond Ick Guard. During the year use of this product will reduce the possibility of ich.
2. Anti-Bacterial Medicated Fish Food. In the Spring many fish begin to breed and cause a disturbance in the pond with a lot of activity, and at times this causes scrapes and other abrasions. Thus, it is highly recommended to routinely feed the Antibacterial Medicated Fish Food to prevent bacterial infections and secondary infections. This can be supplemented with regular nutritious fish food.
3. Turks Island Sea Salt. It cannot be overemphasized that every pond owner with fish should be routinely using natural salt in the water garden pool. It has an osmoregulatory action in helping remove or kill parasites. It not only stimulates the fish but plants.

| ROUTINE USE. If you began using the three products in the Spring as recommended above, then the rest of the season is to monitor your fish for signs of disease. Continue to use the Turk's Island Sea Salt and periodically feed your fish the medicated fish food.
