Fish Disease Remedies
Since the early 1900s Tricker's hatcheries have been breeding and raising fishes. Fish are subject to a wide spectrum of diseases. Fishes are affected by water temperature, pH, osmotic pressures, dissolved gases, elements, etc. These factors also determine whether or not a disease agent can or will cause disease in a fish. Ich or Ick (ichthyophthiriasis) is one of the most prevalent diseases of fish. It is caused by a microscopic protozoan that causes white spots in the skin and gills of the fish. Alteration of the protective skin of the fish by ich allows opportunistic bacteria or fungi for invasion and the fish can die from secondary causes. The best control of ich is prevention. New plants and fish can introduce unsuspected ich. An excellent preventative measure is to treat your pond for Ich BEFORE adding fish or plants.

Ick-Ease. ICH or Ick (ichthyophthiriasis) is one of the most prevalent diseases of fish. It is caused by a microscopic single-celled protozoan that causes white spots in the skin and gills of the fish. Alteration of the protective skin of the fish by ICH allows opportunistic bacteria or fungi invasion and the fish can die from secondary causes. The best control of ICH is prevention. New plants or fish can easily introduce ICH to your pond. An excellent preventative measure is to treat your pond for Ich BEFORE adding new plants, fish or in the Spring when ICH is most prevalent. Tricker's offers Ick-Ease that has an excellent remedity and preventative item to fight ICH: Use one teaspoon to 10 US gallons. Will not burn sensitive fish. See computation formula to determine the amount of gallons of water in your pond, call and discuss with one of our knowledgable representatives, or email us. 1 Gallon treats up to 7680 gallons of water, 8 ounces treats up to 480 gallons, 4 ounces treats up to 240 gallons, and 1 ounces treats up to 60 gallons of water. Not only has the important ingredient malachite green but also contains sodium chloride, formalin, allontoin, and acriflavine that are well known and used as a parasitide! Turk's Island Sea Salt is a general tonic to control bacteria, fungus and parasites in your garden pool. Use when fish are not acting normal and showing signs of general malaise. Routinely use one tablespoon for every 5 gallons of water. This will act to stimulate fish and growth of plants. Includes formula on bottle to treat disease symptoms. This natural salt is very important to add routinely for fish health. Functions with an osmoregulatory action in helping fish remove or kill parasites. Ultra Clear Dechlorinator: Conditions and Detoxifies Water

Excellent conditioner for ponds with fish that removes any chlorine and chloramine that may be in the City water and promotes essential slime coat on the fish to protect gills, detoxifies heavy metals, and reduces long term nitrate build up. Well water may have more metals or too much hardness. Use for topping off your water garden pool from evaporation or filling a new water garden pool. For water garden ponds, use 2 to 4 ounces per 250 to 500 gallons of water or 10 to 12 ounces for 1250 to 1500 gallons of water.
