Mrs. Robert Sawyer - Tricker Water Lily Hybrid
'Mrs. Robert Sawyer' waterlily was hybridized at William Tricker, Inc.® by Robert Sawyer in 1927 and is known as the FIRST pink tropical water lily of the viviparous type, all others at that time being blue. As written in our 1927 mail order catalog: "This lily has a gorgeous, full petaled flower much larger than other viviparous types, and it surpasses all other pink tropical lilies in depth of coloring. The plant is vigorous in growth and free flowering." The plant does well in semi-shaded conditions.

Cleveland - Tricker Water Lily Hybrid
'Cleveland' waterlily was developed at William Tricker, Inc.® and named in honor of the city located close to our historic aquatic greenhouses in Independence, Ohio. The aromatic blossoms of this water lily hybrid are rose pink with slightly pointed petals. Leaves are green, streaked and mottled with chesnut brown. An extremely good flowering plant that is easy to grow.

Independence - Tricker Water Lily Hybrid
'Independence' waterlily is a viviparous hybrid developed by Robert Sawyer of William Tricker, Inc®. and introduced in 1927 which was named after our city. Aromatic blossoms are rich pink, medium size, and extremely abundant. Leaves are green shaded with browish red. The plant is a compact grower, adapable to tubs or large pools. This lily has been used in hybridization with excellent results. Does well in semi-shade conditions. Makes excellent cut flowers.

Mrs. C. W. Ward - Tricker Water Lily Hybrid
'Mrs. C.W. Ward' waterlily was first produced by William Tricker in 1900 and has large blossoms with pointed rose pink petals, golden yellow stamens tipped with pink and are held as much as 15" above the surface. Note the characteristic sepals as they bend down towards the water garden pool surface reflecting an admirable site.

General Pershing - Water Lily
Some gardeners insist that this is the finest hybrid water lily produced. It was produced by George Pring and introduced by William Tricker, Inc. in 1920. It was awarded a silver medal by the Society of American Florists in 1923. It parentage includes the hybrid 'Mrs. Edwards Whitaker', from whom it received its large size, and 'Castalifora' for its color. Flowers are large and deep pink with a rich scent. The aromatic flowers are held as much as a foot above the water and have sepals light pink inside and yellow stamens tipped rose. Dark green buds are stripped with purple. Large dark green leaves are tinged with purple and are spotted red underneath. The plants develop considerable size but adapt well to small pools.

Persian Lilac - Water Lily
Developed by George Pring in 1941. Blossoms of this hybrid have so many petals that they could almost be considered semi-double. The color is really more pink than violet. Flowers are moderately large and fragrant.

Pink Pearl - Water Lily
Produced by August Koch, this hybrid has bright silver pink blossoms of medium size on long peduncles held high in the air. The flower is cup shaped, stamens are yellow, petals are tipped with deep pink and the fragrance is delicious. Leaves are olive green above and reddish brown below.

Here is one of the George Pring's finest hybrids. As its name implies, it opens very flat. Has many long and narrow petals in lovely clear violet pink color. Try it and you will be delighted. Excellent for subdued light.

Rose Marie - Tricker Water Lily Hybrid
'Rose Marie' waterlily is a 1928 Tricker hybrid by well known hybridizer Robert Sawyer that is a gorgeous day blooming viviparous pink which derives its parentage from the popular water lilies: 'Dauben' and 'Mrs. Robert Sawyer'(another Tricker hybrid). The petals are deep pink and pointed.

Pink Perfection - Water Lily
Pink Perfection. The rich pink very fragrant blossom of this water lily is held high above the surface and is sometimes eight inches in diameter. In addition to these qualities, flowers generally remain open in late afternoon long after those of the others have closed. Leaves are heavily variegated with a red coloring underneath. Plants are prolific bloomers and quite vigorous throughout.
