Many people feel that limited garden space cannot possibly permit the development of a lily pool. However, a tub garden can be quickly and easily established in a space no larger than two or three feet in diameter. If you are considering a tub garden or have a miniature pool you will find any of these "pygmy" water lilies are ideal for this purpose. There is a good selection of color and each will stay confined within a small growing area. They produce an abundance of lovely blooms that are most charming in a tiny pool or tub garden or admired for their compact growth in a large pond!

After selecting your water lilies do not forget the Special Planting Crates (click here) and Tricker’s proven Aquatic Fertilizer (click here) to achieve the descriptive flowers and BEST growth!
All lilies are harvested FRESH from our historic nursery. The proven quality of these lilies is beyond compare and Tricker’s GUARANTEES it!

Dauben - Pygmy Lily
Dauben - Pygmy Lily

Dauben. Also, known as Daubenyana or Daubeniana is a select Tricker "true" German hybrid which is one of the first viviparous pygmy hybrids produced by Dr. Daubeny in 1863. Introduced by William Tricker in 1912 and has been a favorite and highly selected water lily since this introduction. The water lily was awarded the Silver Medal at the Newport Horticultual Society in September of 1912. It has beautiful pale lavender-blue flowers. Practically every leaf develops a plant at the center which will produce small flowers very profusely if allowed to spread out. Excellent for small or large pools. A most amazing plant, that if planted in a smaller container can be considered a "pygmy" and if planted in a larger container can marvel the other water lilies in size. An old time favorite and a big seller! Blooms well into the late season while other water lilies are reducing their blooms. It will perform well in direct sunlight, but is perhaps one of the best to grow if you do not have direct sunlight all day or as the sun's pattern changes throughout the summer. Quoted by noted hybridizer and grower of water lilies Albert Buskirk of Independence, Ohio that "this plant produces more flowers than any other variety of water lilies as it blooms almost constantly from Spring to Fall!"
