We cannot say enough in favor of scavengers for your water lily pool or an aquarium! Scavengers are the housekeepers of the water garden or aquarium. Your fish feed upon insects, snails devour algae and green scum, tadpoles eat decayed matter, and clams or mussels continuously filter the water to keep it clear. Since each snail has a different appetite and function, a VARIETY of snails should be selected.
Do not forget to add CLAMS, they are excellent for any water garden pool or aquarium. They are natures living filters and can easily keep a pond or aquarium healthy and clean! All water gardens or aquariums should have clams!

Mystery Snails (Pomaceae bridgesii) are wonderful snails both for water gardens and aquariums. Excellent scavengers since they love to eat algae and left over fish food that can foul a water garden pool or aquarium. They all have an attractive appearance. Resembles the typical "trapdoor snail" in size and appearance. They lay their attractive pink-colored eggs above the water surface on plants or grass. Clams or Fresh Water Mussels

Clams or Fresh Water Mussels. An effective remedy for green or cloudy water and especially good at cleaning up after fish wastes. The clam lives by filtering the solid nourishment out of great quantities of water leaving it crystal clear. They operate best in a few inches of soil or sand. Clams are must in all water garden pools or aquariums in maintaining water quality. Tricker's has been advocating clams for decades and for decades Tricker customers have received total satisfaction from natures BEST house cleaner! Depending upon filtration systems, it is recommended to use at least 6 to 12 clams for every 2000 gallons of water in a water garden pool. For the aquarium, use at least 1 clam per 10 to 20 gallons of water.
