Home | Yellow Tropical Lilies
Eldorado. Produced by hybridizer Martin Randig of California and introduced in 1963. Eldorado is Spanish for the "golden one" and this water lily fits the description. The Spanish Conquistadors sought Eldorado, the Lost City of Gold that has been an ellusive legend but not this water lily. Blossoms are large, lemon yellow and fragrant. Leaves are green, oval shaped, and mottled. Some refer to this water lily being a "hardy tropical" in that is one of the most hardy of the yellow varieties.
