Home | Hardy Shallow Water and Bog Plants
American Water Plantain (Alisma plantago-aquatica). The broad leaves are coarsely veined. Pinkish or white flowers are at the ends of stiff stems rising above the leaves. The broad towering spires become hard and woody after flowering and persist throughout the winter, catching the snow on their outspread arms, in a most attractive manner.
