The following two products are excellent for maintaining water quality.
It includes 2.5 lbs of Barley Straw and 0.8 L of Phos-X
Barley Straw has been processed into a convenient and effective slow release pellet to assist in maintaining a clear pond water naturally. The pellets are completely natural and will support pond growth. Use in the early spring and repeat later in the year if necessary. The British water gardeners have reported barley straw to be more effective and have a longer lasting effect over other straws such as wheat, linseed and oil seeds. British research indicates this will reduce the growth of new algae. 2.5 pound package will treat 1250 gallon pond. 5 pounds will treat 2500 gallons.
Phos-X can be placed in a filter or just set directly into the water garden to help reduce harmful nitrites, nitrates, phosphates, and ammonia that may cause organic matter accumulation and foul odors. It won't harm fish or other aquatic animals because it helps to keep your water healthy. This will treat 1320 gallons and is effective up to 3 months. 0.8 Liters.

William Tricker (born 1853) started his commercial water lily culture in the United States in the late 1800's when he started hybridizing water lilies and studied what helps their growth. The shape, colors and hardiness of his beautiful aquatic plants have withstood the test of time.
In the early 1890's, he earned a reputation as a leader in aquatic lifeforms from hybridiing many water lilies. His water lily nursery and company, in both Ohio and Pennsylvania, was passed down tthrough his family until the 1980's when Richard Lee purchased the Ohio company. In 1892, the first William Tricker mail-order catalog was mailed to customers across the nation, and we still do, today.
A Message to Our Customers
Like other stores, recent events have affected Tricker's including supply lines and employees. Our Team Members have been working as quickly as possible to handle your order. Being short-handed, the propagation of plants and animals has been affected. Tricker's has an energetic crew with new members who are learning all aspects of the company from how to grow the aquatic plants to packaging and shipping to you.
The store in Independence is closed to walk-in traffic because Tricker's brick-n-water store has very limited space to accommodate people. Renovations of the historic site have further limited the space.
Everyone here at Tricker's Water Gardens appreciate your patience during these trying times in our history. We have, and still are, adjusting to accommodate customers. Thank you for understanding and have a very safe and exciting year.
