Eugenia de Land Water Lily. This age old water lily is perhaps one of the most beautiful in the class of pink hardy water lilies. Offered in Tricker’s 1913 catalog and became a favorite ever since. William Tricker received a Silver Medal in 1912 (shown in the images from his 1913 Tricker catalog) for this water lily . The rare deep rose-pink multi-petals are long and lanceolate. The water lily was originally introduced by a famous well known aquarist W.B. Shaw. The water lily is a fast grower and makes large flowers that can be admired from a distance. It is a very winter hardy water lily. One of the images shown is Eugenia de Land in Tricker's 1933 catalog, a testament of the long lasting beauty of such a water lily. Robert Sawyer, famous hybridizer of William Tricker, Inc., admired this water lily that he choose an image of Eugenia de Land to be in his 1934 book. Enjoy!

Store Hours

In the later 1920s and 1930s Tricker delivered aquatics locally with trucks to customers. This practice is still done today.

Customers have been receiving quality aquativ plants and animals that make water gardening easy and fun to do. Purchase with confidence at Tricker's.

William Tricker (born 1853) started his commercial water lily culture in the United States in the late 1800's when he started hybridizing water lilies and studied what helps their growth. The shape, colors and hardiness of his beautiful aquatic plants have withstood the test of time.

In the early 1890's, he earned a reputation as a leader in aquatic lifeforms from hybridiing many water lilies. His water lily nursery and company, in both Ohio and Pennsylvania, was passed down tthrough his family until the 1980's when Richard Lee purchased the Ohio company. In 1892, the first William Tricker mail-order catalog was mailed to customers across the nation, and we still do, today.
