Pennsylvania. This hybrid was created by the well known water lily specialist Dr. Henry Conard in 1907 and can be considered to be one of his best introductions. Dr. Henry Conard, a botanist and native of Pennsylvania, wrote a landmark monograph on the genus Nymphaea, The Waterlilies, by The Carnegie Institution of Washington in 1905. The plant resembles Tricker's famous and popular Blue Beauty, however the plant has large rich deep blue aromatic flowers with yellow stamens form a pleasing contrast to the petals. The leaves are slightly speckled with brown above and below.
