William Tricker (1853-1916) was an originator of commercial water lily culture in the United States. He began experimenting in the later 1800s growing and hybridizing water lilies. He improved the shape, colors and hardiness of these beautiful aquatic plants.
In the early 1890's, he hybridized magnificent water lilies gave him a reputation as a lead grower of aquatic plants. He established a water lily nursery and company. In 1892, he introduced the first William Tricker catalog. This rare 1892 William Tricker Catalog as well as other water garden historic relics are still with the company.
Many hybrid water lilies were introduced and named by these noted individuals and are still available today. Some are unique and "first of a kind" in their respective classes and can be purchased from William Tricker, Inc.®.
